SQUID (Super-Quick Undersea Incident Device)

SquidMost underwater solutions attempt to hold the pressure using concrete and stiff metal piping. Unlike an oil spill containment dome, the SQUID uses no chemicals in the water, equalizes pressure by allowing the oil to naturally flow to the surface in a contained fashion, and even allows salvaging of that oil for use, rather than burning it off or letting it dissipate across the ocean's surface. This solution uses flexible high strength plastic to capture every drop of oil and is impervious to deep sea currents and low temperatures. It "goes with the flow" of the water.

The ViseNut’s unique design combines two of the most simple “machines” in the world, the screw and the wedge, to create a thread-capturing vise-like grip.

The “capture nut” slides easily over long, bent or damaged threads – right up to the “finish line.” The unique wedge-shaped “clam shell nut” opens for easy positioning at the mouth of the capture nut. With just a few turns, the capture nut pulls the wedged threaded halves into itself, grabbing the threads and locking ViseNut in place.

The present invention addresses these and other needs in the art by providing a bottle cap adapted to retain a quantity of an additive, such as for example aspirin or the like. The additive is retained in an isolated condition within a sealed chamber or within a bladder inside the bottle cap. The isolated condition of the additive is maintained by a membrane or a bladder which is fluid communication with the liquid retained within the bottle. Means are provided to breech the seal of the chamber or the bladder, thereby releasing some or all of the additive retained within the bottle cap. Thus, one feature of the present invention is the provision of a user-releasable quantity of an additive retained within a bottle cap, until released by a user.

The present invention comprises a structure mounted on a sink top or counter top between a dishwasher discharge line and a vented plumbing line to provide the anti-siphon feature needed for a dishwasher, in combination with a pump-type soap dispenser. The pump-type soap dispenser includes a push-actuated pump to pump liquid soap from a reservoir bottle, and the pump slides into and out of a mounting collar for ease of removal to facilitate refilling the reservoir bottle.
